I like laying out my drawing in black biro - the process of drawing helps me to understand the volumes, which I can then enhance with watercolour washes. In 2020 I experimented a lot with concertina sketchbooks. I liked the way you could change the viewpoint of the onlooker while moving across the sketchbook, thereby changing the perspective. This led me to try out some townscape panoramas. The format allowed me to show a whole street, and sometimes around corners,
